Nicklas Foundation in the media

Foundation honors organ donor who saved the life of a fellow Texan

Rodney Debaun runs the Nicklas Foundation in North Texas. In 1993, David Nicklas died in a motorcycle accident, and his heart saved Rodney's life.

“Without David Nicklas I wouldn’t be here,” Debaun said. “I’d have died 26 years ago. Wouldn’t have seen my kids grow up, wouldn’t have seen my grandkids, wouldn’t have had the opportunity to try to help other people.”

David’s mother Joyce Nicklas said her biggest fear was that her son would be forgotten.
