Donor Awareness Night at the Ballpark

Gift of Life

Since 2004, the Nicklas Foundation has been able to offer housing to over 100 families awaiting a life-saving organ transplant. Thanks to the continued support of the DeBaun family, Foundation supporters, staff, and volunteers, we have been privileged to house families with transplant patients aged from 3 months old to 72 years. Besides hailing from Texas, patients have come to us from 14 other states including Arizona, Arkansas, California, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Organs transplanted have included double and single lungs, hearts, kidneys, and livers.

The 8th Annual Nicklas Foundation Charity Golf Tournament was held on September 23rd at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie, Tx. We had a total of 33 teams, sponsors, volunteers and donors participating in this year’s event. Proceeds from the tournament will assist the foundation in housing transplant families and promoting organ donor awareness. The tournament generated enough funds that we were able to contribute $4,655 to the Hearts and Hoses Foundation and $4,655 to the Crisis Response Ministry. We wish to thank everyone that had a part in making this year’s event a huge success. Pictures from the event are below.
